How to Clear your Browser's Cache

Some website data (like images) are cached when you access a website from your web browser so that you don't have to retrieve it again upon additional page views. To see immediate changes made to a site (such as DNS changes, or modifying images/text), you need to clear the browser's cache.

Procedure

Chrome

  1. Go to the top left-hand side of the tab, select the 3 dots, and choose "Settings".
  2. From the sidebar, select "Privacy and security".
  3. Select "Clear browsing data".
  4. Choose the items you want to clear and select "Clear".

Firefox

  1. In the top-righthand corner of the Browser window, select the 3 horizontal lines -> Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security.
  3. Under "Cookies and Site Data" select "Clear Data" or "Manage Data".
  4. Choose the specific data you'd like to clear then select "Clear", "Remove All", or "Remove Selected" depending on the method selected and the amount of data being removed.

Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)

  1. In the top-righthand corner of the browser window, select the 3-dot menu.
  2. Open "Settings"
  3. Select "Privacy, Search, and Services" from the sidebar
  4. Under "Clear Browsing Data" select "Choose what to clear"
  5. Choose the specific data you'd like to clear and how far back you'd like to go, then select "Clear Now".

Microsoft Edge (Classic)

  1. In the top-righthand corner of the browser window, select the 3-dot menu.
  2. Scroll down and open "Settings"
  3. Under "Clear Browsing Data" select "Choose what to clear"
  4. Choose the specific data you'd like to clear then select "Clear".

Internet Explorer

  1. Select the gear on the top-righthand side of the screen -> Internet Options.
  2. Find the Browsing History section, and select "Delete".
  3. Choose what you'd like to delete, and select "Delete".

Safari

  1. In the top-lefthand corner of the screen, select "Safari", then "Clear History".
  2. When prompted, and after determining how far back you would like to clear, select "Clear History".

Opera / Opera GX

  1. In the top-right, select the 3-bar menu.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and select "Go to full browser settings"
  3. Under "Privacy and security" select "Clear Browsing Data"
  4. Mark the checkboxes next to the data you want to clear and select "Clear Browsing Data".

Vivaldi

  1. Vivaldi has many view modes, so, to access Settings, navigate to vivaldi://settings/
  2. Select "Privacy" from the sidebar
  3. To delete individual site cookies, click "Show Saved Cookies" then select a domain. From here, you can click the small X to delete that site's cookies
  4. Otherwise, select "Delete All Cookies"
