Een SSL-certificaat is een digitaal certificaat dat voor een domein wordt uitgegeven door een centrale autoriteit, de Certificate Authority. Om een SSL-certificaat te ontvangen, moet u een SSL-certificaat aanschaffen en vervolgens een verificatieproces doorlopen dat wordt uitgevoerd door de certificeringsinstantie.
Een SSL-certificaat doet 2 dingen: a. Versleutel de informatie die vanuit de browser van uw gebruiker naar uw website wordt verzonden. b. Authenticeer de identiteit van uw website. Door deze 2 dingen te doen, beschermt een SSL-certificaat uw klanten en vergroot op zijn beurt hun vertrouwen in uw online bedrijf. Dit is vooral belangrijk als uw website vereist dat gebruikers inloggen met wachtwoorden of gevoelige informatie invoeren, zoals creditcardgegevens.
SSL-certificaten zijn compatibel met alle grote browsers.
Helaas ondersteunen we momenteel geen upgrades/downgrades. Indien nodig kunt u een nieuw certificaat aanschaffen en op dezelfde webserver installeren als het oude certificaat
